Kickstarter Delay

Alright, so there I was, the page was finished, the video was rendering, and the moment I posted it my clock would start ticking, and we would either make funding, or we wouldn't.

I'm not entirely sure why I wanted to post it on the third anniversary of Theta. There wasn't any expectation nor anticipation, and rightfully so, I hadn't done anything in a while. The point I'm trying to make is we're not ready yet.

We'll continue updating the blog of course, with voice acting auditions, with new screenshots. And we'll announce the kickstarter at least a month before it goes online.

Thanks.

Update 10/15 - One Day Until Kickstarter

One day left. All footage for our kickstarter video has been uploaded to my computer for me to edit. I am so tired I can't even say anything witty... I think I'm gonna go to sleep now. NO. Must finish video. That's it, I'm taking an adrenaline shot.

Screenshots! - Four Days Until Kickstarter

Been doing more extensive work on the page and the video (looking for the software to make it convincing is a stretch).

In the meantime, here's a preview of what we've been working on. Screenshots based on some scenes from the upcoming episodes, of some old characters, and some new.

We promise that staring at these for an extended period of time will do no damage to your retinas.

Update (10/21) - Five Days until Kickstarter

Oh man. These last few days have been an endless series of emails, skype messages, freeware, and lots and lots of typing. We've completed a rough draft of our kickstarter, including what we'll do in the way of rewards, stretch goals, risks and challenges, what images and formats we'll use, and so on. Hopefully we'll have completed an excellent page before my carpal tunnel syndrome kicks in.

At Last ...

Hello and welcome,

After many hardships, technical difficulties, and extensive writing, we are finally here with the official blog for our web series.

To anyone just visiting, Theta is an original online sci-fi web series, distributed on Youtube and made using the Halo series. It follows a humble policing team who serve what little humanity is left on Youth, the only planet hidden from the hostile aliens known as the Razon. When they discover a stranded legion of this enemy, a hunt begins, and Theta must battle monsters both alien and human to protect the only home they know.

The series was first launched on October 26th, 2010. And as of today the first episode has a total of 81,865 views. There has since been three successors each released a month apart. And unfortunately after the third, we stopped producing the series.

Last year, we decided to pick up the series and see it to the end. The writing process has recently come to a close, with over 350 pages worth of script written. Unfortunately during this time our computer that operated all the hardware and software we needed broke, and we lack the funds to replace it properly. To do this we will be launching a small fundraiser on kickstarter on the third anniversary of Theta, October 26th 2013.

If you're an old fan and you're still following us, thanks for sticking around, we'll make it worth your while.

More updates to follow.

Stay tuned.

- Spark and Mysty
